Here is where you’ll find all the information you need about preparing for and delivering your baby.
At St. Elizabeth, we believe that every birth is a miracle and every miracle is unique. We want your birth experience to truly be your own—we take into account your family, traditions, customs, and beliefs as well as your physical health.
Collectively, our nursing staff has more than 1,000 years of experience—meaning we’ve seen it all and are prepared to handle any kind of special request or issue that may arise. And because mother and baby will each have their own nurse, you can be sure of receiving the specialized care you need and deserve.
St. Elizabeth sets the standard in regard to quality of care in Nebraska—and even the nation. We were the first hospital in the nation to receive two Gold Seals of Approval™ from The Joint Commission for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and high-risk obstetrics. We are one of only six hospitals in the nation to receive this award for pre-term labor and one of only nine hospitals to receive the award for prematurity.
“The staff was excellent. The personal care they provided really made a difference. A team of nurses coached me from the beginning stages of labor through my delivery. After my baby was born, I held him on my chest for three hours. We were never separated the entire stay. The nurses even checked his vitals while I held him and weighed him right next to my bed. The skin-to-skin contact for three hours really gave us a chance to bond.”
