Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center Opens New Infusion Center

July 18 2011

LINCOLN, NEBRASKA – The Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center announces the grand opening of their new infusion center, which offers a state-of-the-art treatment facility with a comfortable, healing environment for patients.

The new infusion center is located adjacent to the radiation therapy department on the ground level of the hospital. The eight semi-private infusion stations offer patients amenities such as personal, flat-screen televisions with DVD players, indirect lighting and ample space for family and friends providing support during treatment. Additionally, there are two private infusion rooms available to patients that need more peace and quiet.

The infusion center offers a soothing color palette and warm wood tones. Patients, family and staff are surrounded with a sense of warmth and calm that enhances the healing and care-giving processes.

Patients can access the infusion center through a separate entrance on the west side of the hospital with parking available right in front of the building. “Our new infusion center is easy for patients to access. Patients do not need to walk through the hospital. They can park on the west side of the building right in front of the entrance,” says Mary Trauernicht, RN, director of oncology at the Saint Elizabeth Cancer Institute.

“Additionally, we always strive to offer the best care to our patients. The larger space offers a more comfortable environment. When designing this new center, we have kept our patients’ needs in mind, while including state-of-the-art equipment for their treatments,” adds Trauernicht.
