Saint Elizabeth selects new Chief Nursing Officer

December 05 2011

Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce their new Vice President of Nursing and Chief Nursing Officer, Libby Raetz. Raetz has been with Saint Elizabeth for 24 years and has served as the Interim Vice President of Nursing for the past 11 months. Previously, she served as Director of the Emergency Department since 1995.

Raetz has served on many community committees and councils including Ventures in Partnership, Nebraska Urban Indian Medical Center, Shrine Clinic, Mayor’s Task Force, Lincoln ED Connections and has served as the Chair of the Board of Directors for People’s Health Center, to name a few. She has also chaired and led many internal committees and councils at Saint Elizabeth. She brings her strong leadership skills and enthusiasm for Saint Elizabeth and for our nursing division to her new role.

After a rigorous selection process, Raetz commented, “taking over this role on a permanent basis will allow me to continue my service at Saint Elizabeth and work with our extraordinary employees. As Director of Emergency Services, I was privileged to work with numerous people in various clinical roles throughout the medical center. Those relationships continued while I held this position on an interim basis. I will now be able to build further on those relationships to strengthen our nursing excellence at Saint Elizabeth and increase our innovations in professional nursing practice.”
