Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center participates in medical research and clinical trials to give patients access to cutting-edge treatment options and enable them to participate in the latest advancements in medicine.
BURN AND WOUND: Saint Elizabeth Burn Center researchers are continually finding new and more successful ways to treat burns and then sharing these findings at national conferences.
CANCER: Through the medical center’s relationship with the Cancer Resource Center and its affiliation with the Missouri Valley Community Cooperative Oncology Program, our patients have access to all of the major clinical trials for cancer care. Learn more.
DVT: According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 60,000 – 100,000 Americans die every year because blood clots reach their lungs. Our participation in the national ATTRACT study will help us—and doctors around the world—make sure that the strategy used for treatment of deep-vein thrombosis is the best and most effective for patients. HEART CARE: Cardiologists in our Heart Center participate in a number of national studies, including exploring the advantages of coated stents and improving care for patients implanted with electro physiology devices.
NICU: Newborns and other infants with special medical needs benefit regularly from national studies undertaken in the NICU to improve breathing issues or other developmental concerns.
