Dr. Chao Li
Dr. Li completed his fellowship in maternal fetal medicine at the University of Iowa hospitals and clinics. He earned his medical degree from China Medical University and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Toledo Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.

Maternal fetal medicine is centered on caring for mothers with high-risk pregnancies. High-risk pregnancies are usually the result of existing health conditions, high blood pressure or diabetes, multiple babies, a mother's age, or premature labor.


Tovah Buikema, DO
We are pleased to welcome Tovah Buikema, DO, to Nebraska Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists.

Dr. Buikema completed her fellowship in maternal fetal medicine at Michigan State University in Pontiac, Michigan. Her residency in OB/GYN was at St. James Olympia Fields in Chicago, Illinois, and she completed her medical degree at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois.


Melinda Tockey
Melinda Tockey RN, CLC, IBCLC, is a perinatal coordinator at Nebraska Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists. She has a nursing background in high-risk obstetrics, pediatrics and lactation, giving her specialized experience in maternal fetal medicine. Melinda is passionate about working with expecting parents. She enjoys educating them throughout the pregnancy and helping them ensure both mother and baby are healthy and happy. She serves as a board member for the Lancaster county breastfeeding initiative and a member of the Nebraska breastfeeding coalition.


Liane Carkoski
Liane Carkoski is a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in abdomen, obstetrics and gynecology, neurosonology and fetal echocardiography. She received her Bachelor of Science from the University Nebraska Medical Center

With over 23 years of experience in ultrasound and 11 years in Maternal Fetal Medicine, Liane shares that she truly loves her job as a sonographer.


Emily Bluedorn
Emily Bluedorn, BS, RT(R), RDMS and Medication Aide, is a Registered Diagnostic Medicine Sonographer. She is a University of Nebraska Medical Center graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Radiographic Sciences, specializing in abdomen, obstetrics and gynecology, neurosonology and physics.
