In addition to the physician's pulmonary specialty, they have taken fellowships and additional education to diagnose sleep problems. They are required to have continuing education in the field of sleep medicine which means they stay current on sleep medicine trends, information, and treatments.
Meet our Medical Director - Douglas R. Fiedler, MD, FCCP
Dr. Fiedler is board certified in sleep disorders, internal medicine, pulmonary disorders andcritical care medicine.He completed his residency and fellowship training at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he also served as medical director for a local sleep laboratory. Dr. Fiedler received his M.D. from The University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is a native of Lincoln, Nebraska, where he attended Pius X High School and the University of Nebraska.
Dr. Fiedler is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Nebraska Medical Association and the Lancaster County Medical Society. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Nebraska Community Blood Bank.
All of our sleep technologists are licensed in Respiratory Therapy and hold either a Certified Respiratory Therapy (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential. Additionally, all of our sleep technologists have Registered Polysomnography (RPSGT) credentials. The RPSGT credentialing in sleep medicine is the highest credential for technologists and is the "gold standard" for our field. Our staff have worked very hard to obtain these credentials so they can give you the best possible care.
